Hello! I have a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I am lucky to have a broad base of experience working in this field. I have experience working with many types of issues, including substance abuse, mild and severe mental health issues, issues of daily living, etc. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings. I have done work in the USA and overseas, so I have a broad base of work experience. The most important thing to know is that I am passionate about helping people make their lives better. I counsel mainly from a cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic orientation. However, I do choose from various approaches recognizing the uniqueness of each individual client. My therapeutic approach is to provide a warm, caring and safe environment where clients can address the problems that keep them from enjoying the most fulfilling life and reaching their goals. I believe the best approach to helping someone is to provide a supportive, warm, safe, and trusting environment where people can open up about anything without being judged in order to achieve the goal to live a happy and fulfilling life. I am a people person, so you can easily talk to me and know that you are in a good place with the right person. I have worked with people of all ages, races, and religions, so I can help various types of clients. I am someone you can turn to and rely on during your time of need for help.
I tailor my approach to each and every individual client, but I use a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I am a very creative person, so I like to do journaling therapy with my clients. I am an avid journaler myself. Other creative therapeutic approaches I like to use are art therapy, poetry therapy, play therapy, music therapy, etc. I also like to do guided imagery with my clients. I am currently learning reiki and how to incorporate oracle, tarot cards in my therapy practice.
